Where is it?
Stretching along the South East Coast of Africa bordering South Africa, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. Mozambique has approximately 2500 km of coastline.
Why should I go there:
It is the personification of beautiful unspoilt beaches stretching for kilometers.  Famous for its seafood and colonial history plus non-touristy wildlife reserves.   Close to its neighbours and with a choice of airlines this is a great weekend getaway if time is short
How do I get there:
Depending on where you want to be there are several airlines operating from South Africa and this is anything from one hour to three hours.  From Europe it is around 12 hours.  There are also regional flights from Tanzania.
How long should we visit?
Forever… one visit is never enough.   This all depends on your time constraints, budget and level of accommodation.
Is it safe?
Relatively in terms of petty theft.  Politically stable and the worst problem that Mozambique has to contend with are yearly cyclones in the first quarter of the year
What can I see there:
Blue seas, white beaches, marine life, prolific bird life, endemic game in places like Gorongosa. If you are extremely lucky you may even see a rare Dugong!  There are some charming towns offering a taste of local life, homely restaurants and architecture showing the Portuguese influence.
What is the food like:
Outstanding. If you are a seafood lover look no further.
I don’t know where to start:
This is a vast country and once again you cannot see it all in one go. Rather let us guide you and show you what specials we have.
What language is spoken:
Portuguese is spoken everywhere plus the local African dialects. English is widely spoken in the towns, hotels and reserves.
Visas:
Free for South Africans and around US$ 95 for foreign passport holders.  Be sure to check with your local embassy or travel agent before you arrive.
Health:
Malaria is everywhere so you need to take the necessary precautions. No yellow fever certificates required if you are not coming from an infected area.  Water is not safe to drink so please always buy bottled water.
Highlights of Mozambique:
Gorongosa, Lugenda, Quirimba Archipelago, Bazaruto Archipelago, Ilha da Mocambique & Nampula, Maputo, Nacala, Pemba, Inhambane, Inhaca.
